Here’s the naked truth: Chelsea Handler loves books. And the comedian is sharing some of her quarantine reading in a series of Instagram posts featuring photos of herself with lots of books and no clothes.
The posts, hashtagged with #GetLitWithChelsea and #NakedLit, showcase books like Yaa Gyasi’s Homegoing, Min Jin Lee’s Pachinko, and Glennon Doyle’s Untamed. “Do you like to have fun in the tub with learning? I do,” she writes in one, where she’s lounging, clothes-free, in a washroom.
“Are you going out of your mind and have started socially disassociating? That’s when reading comes in handy,” she writes in another.
She explained, “There are a lot of blanks that I need to fill in from my days of high school where I wasn’t curious. What attracts me the most is what I don’t know about, and luckily those subjects are bountiful.”
She told the newspaper she has no plans to end her en déshabillé book recommendations.
“It is partially me trying to keep my mind busy and to motivate people that there are options besides staring at your phone all day or watching the news,” she said.
